Flutter -- Kindred-Euphoria by `kindred:iconkindred:

Fragile wings
Move gracefully,
Open and close
Over a delicate body.

In search of life
And luscious nectar
Parting petals and
Landing on insignificant feet.

It guards the secret of its flight:
Fairy dust clinging to thready veins
And see-through colors catching sunlight;
Fluttering in defense.

Pushing  off in to the air
Bumbling in graceful gracelessness
Through an array of semi precious perches,
Coming to land inquisitively
On a tiny finger.

With the soft stroke of a finger tip
Paper thin wings crumble
In merciless curiousity;
And innocent admiration shines
in the child's bright eyes.

Author's Comments

This is my first piece since...oh...sometime in July, I believe? I have many little pieces that never made it to the end, so I really had considered giving up writing for a while...period.

Until today, when I was talking with $ euphoria at work, and she had sent me a quote that says "butterflies can't fly ever again if you touch their wings" I mentioned to her that it sparked something in me and I wanted to write about it. So we both decided to do this collab.

It felt odd to be writing again, but I think that she and I did a pretty good job with this. So, if you liked this, and want to comment, please let her know also. =)

All I can say is that it felt odd to write again. So thank you Kit, for helping me find something i've been looking for for months now.

Edit: If someone could please let me know, in a note or something, how to make the damn cover image more then the size of an icon...I would appreciate it. This is not helping my blood pressure! NOT ALL! NONE! erm...Ahem....sorry. :blushing:

Edit Numero Dos: Found that if the cover image is a JPEG, it will work. Teehee...

Delicately beautiful, like the wings of the butterfly.
